One book group member should go to the Main Library's Book Clubs to Go! display and choose the card corresponding to the kit the book group wants to check out. At the library service desk, the kit will be checked out to that book group member, who is responsible for all of the materials. One kit can be checked out at a time.
All kits are stored at the Main Library, but may be placed on hold and sent to any Glendale Public Library location to be picked up after 72 hours. Only one kit may be placed on hold at a time.
All kits can be checked out for three weeks. A kit may be renewed up to five times if no one else places a hold on it.
Kits can be picked up and returned at any Glendale Public Library location. They must be returned to the library service desk when the library is open, however, as they will not fit into the outside drop boxes. All materials in each kit must be returned together. A library staff member will inventory the kit upon return.
Please return kits promptly so they will be available for other book groups.
Fees will be charged for lost or damaged materials.
If your group happens to lose a book, you can replace it with a clean, readable copy of the same book, new or secondhand, or pay a replacement fee of $10.
If your group loses a “Book Clubs to Go Kit”, the cost to replace the entire kit is $140.
